Admission Process & Eligibility for PG
Regular, Management & Lateral Entry
Eligibility for Admission to Regular MBA Programme
MBA Programme:
A. A candidate who has passed Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the year’s of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-1 of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)
B. For admission under Government quota: ranks obtained in PGCET entrance exam, conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), shall be considered.
Eligibility for Admission to Regular MCA Programme
MCA Programme:
A. A candidate who has passed any recognized BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent Degree Or Passed B.Sc. / B.Com / B.A, preferably with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or at Graduation level [For the students having no Mathematics background bridge courses will have to be studied and passed as notified by the University] and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses. 45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.
B. For admission under Government quota: ranks obtained in PGCET entrance exam, conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), shall be considered.
Eligibility for Admission to MBA and MCA Programme through Management Quota
A. 50% of the sanctioned intake is reserved for Management quota.
B. Entrance Examination conducted by KEA (PGCET)/Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) or appeared and qualified under any approved entrance examination conducted by the authority recognized by Government of Karnataka/VTU /any other University of Karnataka state. (KMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT).
C. The eligibility condition of 50% maximum CGPA or 50% of the marks secured at graduate level for seeking admission to VTU – PG programmes from the AY: 2022-23 and onwards. The class/marks for admission approval shall be considered as per the policy of degree awarding University.
D. All the above may be subjected to revision from time to time by Government order. Refer to the circular by the Government and KEA (https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/indexnew) every year.
