Department of Research and Development at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering & Technology (VVIET) Mysore is headed by Dr. A D Srinivasan, a Doctorate from of The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), who has about 4 decades of Academic, Research and Industrial Experience. The department has many facilities and proactive initiatives to promote R & D activities including sponsored & academic research, product development, patents, startups, innovations and consultancy. The vibrant R&D culture fosters innovative spirit to kindle the young minds at the campus under able guidance and mentorship of motivated faculty members at all the departments. The vision and mission of R&D department at VVIET is to carve a niche not only in India but also abroad with regard to Product development and Innovation. The R&D department has established vibrant Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and also has active collaborations with various work groups and professional bodies in India and abroad.

To achieve excellence in Research & Innovation leading to product development and startups in the field of Engineering and Management for the betterment of human kind.
To promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship skills among students and faculty members in collaboration with industry to cater to the needs of society.
To transform the research work and innovative ideas into start-up in line with Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.
To make the VVIET a worthy knowledge center by developing research and extension activities in association with professional bodies/industries/research establishments.
To create awareness among faculty members and students about the availability and access to research grants, funding formats etc and appropriately hand hold them to get such funds/grants.
To ensure the participation of students in various R&D or Design Competitions/Awards within India and Abroad.
To establish excellent academic research support facilities (laboratory, library, Internet, etc.)
To establish procedures and methodologies for regular monitoring and control of quality of research in academic departments
To increase Institute-Industry interaction/Collaboration, Entrepreneurship Development/Technology Business Incubation/start-ups.
